London, Sept. 13. The Evening standard says the Meat Reorganisation Commission has rejected the proposal for a Id in the lb levy on all imported meat, estimated to yield £9,000,000 annually, which would ensure to British farmers a guaranteed price of 48s per cwt. of cattle and 56s per cwt for sheep. The reason for rejection was Ihat it would conflict with the Ottawa agreements. The Farmers' Union has now asked the Minister to impose an immediate cut of 55 per cent. on imports in order to save the live stock industry.
