council expresses desire > to resume control PREPARED TO LEASE • | Following instructions given it to investigate and report upon the position of the title of Pukeroa Reserve, j. the Legal Committee of the Rotorua _ Borough Council last evening sub- ■ mitted a report of its findings to- K gether with the opinion of the borough solicitor. . The council considered the posi-. tion at some length in committee and on resuming open meeting, the Mayor (Mr. T. Jackson) reported the xol- ;j lowing two motions : (1) That the council desires to re- ;?] sume control of the Pukeroa Domain. (2) That the Government be requested to have the control of thej, domain vested in the council and that |,i it be informed that if the council is given control of the area, it is pared to lease a portion tlie re-i serve at a peppercorn rental to the Waikato Hospital Board over a. p eriod of 21 years on condition that a hospital suitable for the needs of the district is maintained there.
