DEFEATS PATTERSON IN ROUGH BOUT AT THAMES

Thames, Wednesday. George Walker to-night defeated Jack Patterson in the fifth ronnd of a professional wrestling contest before a large crowd. The bout was characterised by rough tactics and showmanship. Patterson offended most by the illegal use of the elbow and strangle hold. Patterson secured a fall in the second round with a flying body scissors and a body press but W^ alker evened in the fourth round with a dump and a body press. The bout ended in the next round, Walker throwing Patterson with a series of headlocks and securing a fall by a reverse toehold. Patterson was very groggy when the bout ended.
