FRANKTON
There was an extra heavy yarding of all classes of fat sheep at the weekly stock sale at the Frankton yards yesteiiday. Prime wethers again sold under strong competition at last week's level. Fat ewes were a shade easier while hoggets and spring lambs sold at late rates. There was a short yarding of ox and cow beef and values were improved. Pigs came forward in average numbers, and under strong competition quotations were firmer. Quotations : —
Sheep: Extra heavy prime wethers, 22s 6d to 29s 6d; heavy prime wethers, 26s to 27s 3d; medium prime wethers, 22s 6d to 25s 3d; ; heavy shorn wethers, 18s 4d to 20s 3d; prime two-tooth ewes, 22s to 24s 6d; heavy fat ewes, 19s 5d to 20s 8d; medium fat ewes, 17s 5d to 18s 9d; light fat ewes, 16s to 17s 3d;' heavy prime hoggets, 20s to 22s 6d; lighter, 16s to 18s 9d; spring lambs, 21s to 25s. Beef: Heavy fat bullocks, £6 10s to £7; medium fat bullocks, £5 4s to £5 16s; lighter fat bullocks, £4 10s to £5; heavy fat cows, £4 17s 6d to £5 5s; medium fat cows, £3 18s to £4 5s; lighter fat cows, £2 5s to £2 14s. I Pigs: Heavy baconers, 48s to 60s; heavy porkers, 28s to 38s.
