five men appear in the dublin court MAINTAIN GRIM SILENCE

(Rec. 5.5 p.m.) London, Sept. 6. Five young men charged with raiding Dublin public houses which were selling English ale, maintained a grim silence and refused to disclose their names when they appeared in court. Seven more, similarly charged at Killarney, also declined to make statements while one witness, who refused to identify one of the def endants, was sent to gaol for a week for eontempt of court. The police guarded the court-house which a strong force of youths attempted to rush. They were met by a determined baton charge in which two were hurt.
