/ WHJTE LINEN LUiRE. •When Robert Arthur Cookson, assistant vdrger at St. Alban's Church, Teddington, Middlesex, England, was at High Wlcombe committed for trial on five charges of stealing church sur- . plices and vestments, he said, "When I see anything of white linen a f eeling comes over me 'that I must have it." It was stated that at Cookson's home at Teddington the police found 647 surpliceS and many other church Vestments in a bedroom. A police superintendent said there were 59 charges outstahding.
