anmual meeting PRESIDENT COMMENTS UPON SUCCESSFUL PAST SEASON OFFICERS RE-ELECTIED * The annual general meeting of the Rotorua Racing Club took place in the Citizens' Club room last evening, the president, Dr. H. Bertram, pre-* siding over a good attendance. In formally moving the adoption of the annual report and balance sheet Dr. Bertram remarked upon the suecessful year which had been experienced hy the club, particularly the success of the last meeting which showed a good profit, mainly due, no doubt, to the good fields and the innovation of the win and place totalisator. Taking the view that the club should assist other sporting hodies by granting the judicious use of its appointments the rents derived during the year
were not large. A fa.r amount of expenditure on maintenance would he necessary during the coming year, and the question of providing adequate stabling facilities would require to be considered. In preparing the accounts for the year the assets of the club had been written down and the values were not overstated. The club had a valuable property which should appreciate when the present depression passd. The president expressed the opinion that the satisfactory position of the club as disclcsed hy the accounts was in a large measure due to the fine work of the secretary and executive and he thonght that the club had been wise in their choice of these Dfficers. The motion of adoption was second»d hy Mr. C. R. Tapper and passed vithout discussion.
