i— %y Telegraph— Copyright),

(Rec. 8 p.m.) New York, August 28. . President Roosevelt has accepted the resignation of Professor Moley as an officer of the State Department. This first break in the official family of tho President was presaged by an under-surface split 'in the State Department between Professor Moley and the Secretary of the Departihent, Senator Cordell Hull. Professor Moley explaihed that his resignation was prompted by a desir e to return to the work of writirig and teaching' politics. Nevertheles's, well-informed sources assert that irreconcilable differences with Mr. Hull on questions of policy caused the resignation. Professor Moley is recognised as an adherent of the Nationalist doctrine of recovery whereas Senator Hull believes that recovery is possible only through international afction.
