DISCHARGES GRANTED AT HAMILTON SUPREME COURT Hamilton, Fl'iday. Discharges from bankruptcy were granted by.the Supreme Court to-day in the following cases: Alfred Beaton, rabbit trapper; Walter John Maitland Smith, labourer, of Frankton; James Hamilton Still, contractor, of Otorohanga; Elrington Quick, farmer, of Taupiri; Wm. John Bowling, machinery agent, of Hamilton; Arthur George Tibby, garage proprietor of Taumarunui; Henry Kells, farmer, of Putaruru; Arthur Chirney, sharemilker, of Pirongia; Chas. Leonard William Brown, agent, of Hamilton; John Oliver Fruish, grocer, of Hamilton. An unconditional discharges was refused John Alfred Norman Winger, garage proprietor, of Taumarunui. The official assignee's report showed that bankrupt was responsible _ for reckless trading, giving indiseriminate credit, and over-valuation of partnership assets. Expressing his disapproval of such trading, Mr. Justice Smith granted a discharge, subject to six months' suspension. Arthur Arnold Best, driver, of Hamilton," was also granted a discharge subject to six months' suspension. "On your own evidence you were utterly reckless," said his Honour, when Joseph William Chirney, farm labourer, of Paeroa, applied for discharge. Mr. E. McGregor opposed the application on behalf of creditors unless judgment were entered for at least 1/- in the £. His Honour observed that bankrupt conducted his business on credit, instead of on a cash basis. The creditors had a legitimate grievance. The application was dismissed.
