George Dempsey (Australia) , holds the United States sprint bieycle riding championship for professionais by virtue of last night's win in a five mile sprint event in ten minutes 34 4-5 seconds. Dempsey came from the rear .oh the final lap and passed Norman Hill (San Josef, California) and drew level .with the pacemaker, Cecjl Walker (Australia)., who had held the title for three years. Dempsey and Walker drove' down the stretch at a teri'ific pace, Dempsey winning by inehes.
