Toronto, Aug. 2l. Mr. G. W. Forbes was given.a recej)tion in the City Hall Square today, and he gave an Empife message to the people who filled the Squarp. "The Empire must grow into an fevercloser national and economic unit," he said. Mr. Forbes accepted a cenotaph flag from the city to hang in the memorial hall of the Waitaki High School at Oamaru. Mr. Forbes also paid a tribute to Mr, R. B. Bennett, the • Ganadian Prime Minister, saying: "He has heen a great help to me at the economic conferences. At both the- Imperial and World Conferences we looked upon him- as our champion." , Mr. Forbes refused to discuss here conversations with Mr. H. H. S'tevens the Minister of Trades and Customs.
