Rec. Aug. 1, 8.10 p.m. . Calcutta, August 1. Gandhi was arrested at 2 &.m. in his bungalow at Ahmedabad, Mr. Mahadeva Desai, -who' was with Gandhi, is also held in custody. The police at the same time rounded up 32 inmates of th'e establishment who were preparing to leave with Gandhi on a secret mission. It is believed that Gandhi had decided on propaganda for a "no tax" campaign which might have developed dangerously.
