The advance was not reflected in extra heavy prime cattle. Extra choice ox sold to 21s per 100 1b; choice and prime, 18s to 20s; secondary and plain, 15s to 17s; prime young cow and heifer beef, 17s to 20s; secondary, 12s to 16s. Extra heavy prime steers ranged from £8 5s to £9 ; heavy, £7 5s to £8 2s 6d; lighter, £6 5s to £7 2s 6d; light, £5 to £6 2s 6d; unfinished, £3 to £4 15s; extra heavy prime young cows and heifers, £5 to £6 heavy, £4 7s 6d to £5 2s 6d; lighter, £3 12s 6d to £4 5s; light, £2 10s to £3 10s; others, 30s to 47s 6d.
