AN IMPERIAL VIEW

(Special to United Press Association)

LORD ROTHHRMERE CHAMPIONS THE DOMINIONS' claims ' PREFERiEiNCE URGED

(Rec. 10.40 p.m.) London, July 26. In an. article in the Daily Mail, Lord Rothermere protests against the application of quotas for- Australian and New Zealand dairy produce. He uses the arguments employed hy Mr. Forbes that these two Dominions provide a hetter market for British manufaetures than Demark and also that Britain can hardly expect New Zealand and Australia to pay interest on money lent them if their production output is restricted. He urges that stringent preferential treatment should be given these two Dominions and that instead of an international view, a strong Imperialist view should be taken of the position. The first conference between the representatives of the Dominions and the British Minister of Agriculture (Major W. E. Elliott) takes place this afternoon when the British Government will submit its proposals in regard to the various products. Reference will be made to pork, cheese, processed milk, hutter, and meat. Each country will have one representative. Mr. iR. Masters will represent New Zealand.
