GRIFFITHS—BEAUMONT

A very pretty wedding was solemnised at St. Luke's Anglican Church recently, when Mary Ellen, elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. R'. Beaumont, of Ngongotaha, was married to Alfred Henry Griffith's, only son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Griffiths, of Whakatane. Archdeacon F. W. Chatterton ' officiated at the" ceremony, and Mr. Stanley Turton, cousin of the bride, acted as best man. The bride, who was escorted by her father, entered the church wearing a charming gown of powder blue silk . fashiomed on slim-fltting lines, the skirt falling in graceful flares from below the hips. Her white tulle veil was held in place by a coronet) of orange blossom, and she carried a shower bouquet of white roses, carnations and maidenhair fern. A cousin of the bride, Miss Mary Turton, who was in attendance as bridesmaid, wore a fiowing anklelength gown of old rose crepe de sois, cut on slim lines with a small bolero coatee of the same material. Her picture hat was in the same shade of old rose and she carried a Victorian posy of spring flowers and asparagus fern. , Two dainty flower girls completed i the brida.1 group and they were dressI ed alike in picturesque frocks of the j palest pink crepe de chine relieved J with rosebud trimmings. Their small net caps also bore sprays of rosebuds 'and each carried small muffs in the same toning of pink. After the ceremony, a reception was held at the Grand tearooms, where Mrs. Beaumont received the guests. wearing a smart ensemble in wine rep j tweed relieved with touches of beige and silver. She wore a small wine hat to tone. Among the guests present were: — Mr. and Mrs. Turton, Mrs. Beamish, Mrs. Thompson, Miss A. Beaumont, Miss O. Beaumont, Miss M. Turton, Miss O. Beamish, Misses Neilson (3), Mrs. James (Wellington), Messrs. S. Turton, C. Young, W. Cormary, W. Henry, A. Doyle, W. Hardie, R. and J. Beaumont. ! Prior to their departure for their "honeymoon, a very jolly social evening was given in honour of the happy couple at the Ngongotaha Hall.
