THE NEW MACHINE
Wellington, Tuesday. The work of commencing the manufacture of a machine to he flown across the Tasman in December by Squadron Leader T. W. White is proceeding at Cockatoo Dock accordilig to advice received by Mr. b. Sheil, aviation oflScer of the Vacuum Oil Coy. The machine will he a twin-engined monoplane which is designed to maintain hedght while flying on one engine only. It will carry six passengers and their baggage together with mails. It will have a cruising speed Of 125 m.p.h. and a top speed of 140 m.p.h. The name of the machine has not yet been, decided but the type will be known as th'e Wackett Codock, Codock being an abbreviation of Cockatoo Dock where the machine is being built under.the supervision of Wing Commaflder L. J. Wackett.
