charges dismissed against four men

Wellington, Friday. The hearing of charges of taking part in an unlawful procession brought against four men, Charles Norris Brooks (37), Richard Henry Webb (28), Charles Frederick Bar- ' ker (49), and John Harvey Blair (37), in the Wellington Magistrate's Conrt, concluded to-day. Blair and Barker were also. charged with inciting to lawlessness. The charges arose out of the picketting of relief jobs during the recent strike of unemployed in Wellington. Mr. E. Page, S.M., said that a breach of the by-laws had been proved but it did not require a conviction and he proposed to dismiss the informations against the four, men. He did not consider that the ac- . tions of Blair and Barker amounted to inciting to lawlessness ( and dismissed these informations also.
