ENCOURAGING ENTRIES FOR COMPETITIONS THIS WEEK

A FINAL REMINDER Once again there has been a most encouraging response to the introduction of a Children's page in the "Morning Post" and already quite a number of new members have registered this week. Children w'ho wish to enter for the second series of competitions must remember that entries close to-night or at the latest at noon on Thursday. An order for 2s 6d has been sent to Lillian Ross, of Seddon Street West, who won last week's competition for the best joke, while points cards won in the competition for the portable gramophone presented by Mr. Epi Shalfoon, of Arawa Street, will bo forwarded at the end of the week and before the issue of the next page. It has also been decided to forward to each member an attractive membersliip certificate and these will be posted also at the end of the week. After this week, they will be forwarded earlier in the week as there. will then be a supply of the cards on hand. This week the points in the gramophone competition are restricted to the juniors (6 to 11 years) and the competition is for an unfinished story. The beginning of the story is published below and the points will be awardcd for the be-st conclusion. Just write straight on and finish the story in your own 'way. In the senior division (11 to 14 years) a prize of 5s is offered for the best letter of not more than 300 words describing your favourite movie star. So far, the majority of the entries i*eceived have been in the junior division and it is hoped that further entries will be received in the senior section. All new members must register by filling in the coupon published in the page, but this is not necessary again after you have registered once. In addition, letters, jokes and any other contributions to the page will be very welcome and will be published wlienever possible. Write on one side of the pape-r only and as clearly as possible.
