"A survey made yesterday oi tne shop premises in Hinemoa Street damaged by fire on Thursday night re•vealed that little of value was- saved pf the plant and stQck in hlr. W. /Pakes' shop apd although the insuriance assessor will not examine "Ihe ■ premises until to-day it is thopght that a total loss has heen sustained. \ln the adjourning shops, occupied by ,Mrs. Maude, the stock of needlework .and woollen goods appears to have /suffered badly from smoke and water, while practically all the seyung mac.ihines in this shap and also that of Mr. Maude, next door. have been subjected to damage hy water.
