MAY AVERT BREAK-DOWN London, July 6. A Sun Service message 'says it is confidently expected that the hreakdown of the conference will he averted. While the Bureau spokesman was unable to indicate how far the mone* tary decisions affected the Ameiucans, it is known that Mr. Cprdell Hull throughout the day pleaded desperateiy to avoid a breakdown of the conference. Every one recognises the difficulty of drawing a line of demarcation between monetary and eeonomic suhjects, and apparently it is to he left to the Americans when the final decisions are made to indicate their reservations, just as the gold countries will. A most nseful contrihution carne from Mr. Neville Chamberlain who moved that the committees should continue their work hut urged frequent meetings of the bureau to coordinate and push on the work.
