j RUGBY UNION HOLDS j REGULAR WEEKLY i MEETING.
The Opotiki Rugby Union met on .Monday evening, the following members being present: Mr. W. Burrett (chairman) , Messrs. Woods, S. Jephson, C. Butterwortb, F. J. Short, C. Morris, J. O'Sullivan, C. Simmonds (secretary). A discussion took place as to whether to continue with club matches next Saturday or hold a Possibles v Probables trial game. It was finally decided to discontinue senior club games for this Saturday sand Messrs. Jephson, Woods and Morris were appointed to select a .sfceam to play the reps. The junior competition will be advanced another stage on Saturday, the draw being: — O.M.P. v High School at the reserve, (Mr. Webb.) City v Country, Showgrounds, (Mr. Parris.) The secretary was requested to write to the Te Puke Union to ascertain whether their juniors could play the Opotiki juniors as a curtain-raiser | to cthe Te Puke v Opotiki Shield I match on July 15. The following teams have been chosen to play in the Possibiles v Probables match next Saturday. Probables — Fox, Kingi, Black, Hunia, Temple, Kelly, P. Brown, Maunsill, Newth, Terito, J. Brown, Kelly, Shadow, Clay, Paul. Possibles (to be selected from the following) — Grace, Wolfenden (2), I Braae, Kurei, Hickey, S. Brown, C. 1 Brown, Burton, S'herman, Loft, Mul- | hern (2), Kemp, T. Walker, T. Jones, Mansell, Tairau, Thompson and J. Hata.
