ANOTHER SUCCESS
SERGEANT G. A. FORD WELL PLACE'D IN COMPETITION LOGAN CAMPBELL BELT. Advice has been received that Sergt. G. A. Ford, of Rotorua, has been successful in winning a silver medal for the third highest score in the Logan Campbell Belt competition in the Northern Command. The conditions of the shoot provide for a possible score of 140, the winner securing the belt and a gold medal and the next two highest scorers silver msdals. Sergt. Ford made a score of 133, while C.Q.M. R. Price, also of Rotorua, made 133 but -was beaten in the count back by Sergt. Ford who made 49 out of a possible 50 in rapid shooting. Had it not been for ill-luck in dropping six points in the last practice, Sergt. Ford would have been well placed in the belt final and gold medal. However, it is expected that he will also get the battalion challenge belt for the best shot in the 1st Battalion Hauraki Regiment. In all but rapid and application shooting in the last practice both Rotorua competitors se. cured possible scores.
