MR. COATES' ATTITUDE Wellington, Monday. Asked to-day to comment on the action of the Auckland Transport , Board in paying interest in New Zealand currency, Hon. J. G. Coates said -he preferred to say nothing at the • moment. As to whether the general payment of interest by local bodies would have any effect on the exchange position he said definitely that it would have no influenee.
