CARD EVENING

A pleasant evening of Flag 500 tendered to Mr. and Mrs. W. Kirkbride, was held at the home oi' Mrs. C. Hambly on Tuesday evening. There were five tables of players, Mr. A. E. Martin making a very capable M.C. After a delicious supper bad been served, Mrs. Hambly spoke with regret of the departure of the guests of honour.' Mr. Martin then made a presentation on behalf of all present. The gift took the form of a iserviceable tea wlaggion. Mr. Kirkbride replied suitably. The winning card players were: Mrs. Hodges (Ngongotaha), Mrs. Hambly, Mr. W. Burton and Mr. E. Maxwell. Consolation prizes were awarded to Mrs. W. Burton, Mrs. W. Kirkbride, Mr. A. Martin and Mr. G. Griffiths.
