— T>y Telegraph — Copyright).
London, June 26. The third week of the Economic Conference is expected to be mainly devoted to co-ordinating the work done hy the various bodies. It is well ap to schedule. Private meetings were held to-day of six sub-conmiittees. Before the Tariff Comniittee, India to-day dealt a blow at wholesale tariff fcaling by affirming that she has provided a 25 per cent. duty in favour of her indigenous industries for a specified number of years and cannot hreak this undertaking and will not agree notj to extend equal protection to other natural industries seeking hdp. At the same time she would wlcome a reduction of prohibitive daties imposed on other countrips. Despite Mr. Roosevelt's resolution, the sub-comnuttees are working at high pressure to frame the1 outline of a scheme not providing for stabilisation but laying down broad conditions wherein this can be achieved, provided the major nations concur.
