ANNUAL MEETING In opening the annual meetin'g of the Opotiki A. and P. Assoeiation the retiring president, Mr. Clem Black, expressed his thaiiks to the various committees, the ladies, members and general public who had assisted during the past year. Thanks to this lielp the show had been most successful. He would like the meeting to consider' the enlarging of the general committee in order to include hiembers in the coast and Motu districts. He also suggested that the new committee sh'ould consider the moving of the big show shed as under the latest Government scheme the ' assoeiation could- get assistance in this work. Mr. Black then vacated the chair and the election of ofiicers proceeded, resulting as follows. — President, Mr. S. Jephson; vice-presidents, Messrs J. S. Parkinson and E. G. Neal; hon treasurer, Mr. A. Braae; hon. auditors, Messrs Reeves and Ro land; committee, Messrs C. Black, J. T. Clark, R. Irvine, J. Stanbury, M. Powell (Coast), P. Woolfield (Waimana), Starkey (Toa Toa). Mr. Abbott proposed that the annual subscription remain the same as last year. A number of members had enrolled last year and he did not con. sider it fair to raise the subscription now. 0 iMr. Black seconded the motion which was carried. Mr. Black suggested that the incoming oomimittee should earefully consider the matter of the reduced entrance fees. Mr. Braae moved and it was carried that it be a recommendation to the incoming committee to consider the reduction of the prize-money. On the motion of Mr. Black it is to he a recommendation to the incoming committee that a competition must consist of two exhibitors, not two exhibits. * Th'e following new members were elected: Messrs J. Moody, A. Burton, S. Gordon, H. Irvine, G. Mead and S. Maxwell. Mr. C. T. Clark in proposing a hearty vote of thanks to Mr. C. Black for his enthusiastic work as president, during the last two years, said that he had had a most diffieult time and had done exceptionally well.
