TE KINGA JERSEY SALE
The dispersal sale of the Te Kinga Jersey Stud on hehalf of Mr. R. S. Tuek, Waharoa, was held on Tuesday by the Farmerss' Co-operative Auctioneering Go., Ltd. There was a particularly large and representative bench of buyers from all parts of the North Island, and bidding throughout maintained a steady average. A feature of the sale was the demand for good quality yearlin'g bulls with butter-fat hacking. Y earling heifers were also very keenly sought after, particularly the progency of Mr. Tuck's two latest imported sires "Brampton Favorite Standard" and "Brampton Welcome Lord," who both have proved a decided acquisition to this stud. Top price for females was secured for that great cow "Ivondale Oxford Lass," the 1927 Junior 2-year-old class leader, and "Gold Medalist" with C.O.R. 731.29 butter-fat, who fell at the bid of Mr. George Peterson, of Waitara at 105 guineas after a spirited duel with Mr. W.' J. Livingstone, of the Farmers Co-operative Auctioneering Co., acting a behalf of a northern client. Mr. M. Trotter, of Kati Kati^was the purchaser of "Brampton Welcome Lord" imported, at 90 guineas, this being the highest price obtained for bulls. This outstanding sire has proved his worth as a breeder in this stud, being represented in the offering by many young cattle of fine type. Altogether a most successful sale has to be recorded, the following excellent averages being obtained: — 59 cows averaged 20 l-3gns; 3 stud sires averaged 54 guineas; 22 in-calf heifers, 16 l-3gns; 20 yearlin'g heifers, 14-gns; 12 yearling bulls, 22gns. The average for the sale over all be. ing slightly over 19 guineas.
