ROTORUA. ASSN. EXECUTIVE ENDEAVOURS TO ARRANGE REP. ' FIXTURES PLAYERS TO TRAIN A meeting of the Rotorua Ladies Hockey Association was held on Monday evening, the president, Miss K. Carnachan presiding. The action of the secretary in granting permission to the Whakatane sub. association to enter a team in the Lady Ngata Memorial Cup Competition at Gisborne was approved. A request from Whakatane for a remission of fees unpaid during 1932 was also considered and it was decided to instruct the sub-association that it was not within the power of the executive to grant such a lYemission. The Wellington Association referred an application for affiliation from the Tuhoe sub -association at Te Whaiti and the secretary was instructed to advise this association that it was in the Rotorua Association's district and therefore would recmire to affiliate with. Rotorua. The Te Puke .Ladies' Hockey Club forwarded fees for the current season. • "» . A letter from the Auckland Association notified that since its last letter the Tauranga sub-asociation had paid all fees due and that the ban placed on it had now been lifted. Invitation to Kerepehi Discussing representative fixtures the committee decided to accept a visit from Kerepehi on Saturday, July 22, and also to endeavour to arrange a men's game between the two associations. The Whakatane subassociation have also been offered a match at Rotorua and Hamilton are to receive a similar invitation. The N.Z.W.H.A. advised that entries for the Dominion tournament at Dannevirke would close on July 29 and also that a conference would be held at Wellington in May 1934. The Shamrock club were declared the winner of the Robertson Cup competition concluded last Saturday and the following draw was made for the commencement of the Wai0 rua a-Rangi Cup competition next Saturday. Shamrocks v. Arawa 2 p.m. Taniwha v. Mourea, 2 p.m. Following a discussion on the allocation of the Dominion tournament, a report of which was published yesterday, the secretary was instructed to publicly thank those persons in Rotorua who had in any way assisted the association in its application. Members regretted that the endeavour of the association to further the progress of the town by providing this important fixture had now been made imposible. The committee expressed the hope that as it was advisable. that an endeavour be made to enter for the tournament; the support of the public would continue to be accorded the association. Representative Trials The following players have been chosen by the selector, Mr. A. C. Watts, to train for representative matches and the Dominion tourney team this year. Mourea: M. Walker, L. Ipu, R. Ipu B. Patikura, T. Williams. Taniwha: T. Wharekura, R. Manning, N. Hiini, A. Hato, R. Morgan, E. White, N. Nihinui L. Hato. Arawa: R. Manahi, R. Martin, G. Morrison, B. Papuni, H. Poihipi, W. Hall, R. Kingi, J. Chaytor. Shamrocks: K. Reweti, M. Black, M. Mitchell, H. Mitchell, T. Mitchell, E. Mitchell, W. Gillies, R. Ratema, S. Smith, M. Werahiko.
