Waipukurau, Tuesday. The Waipawa Hospital Board, following riegotiations with the Department 'of Heaith and with the Concui'rence of the Central Hawkes Bay local bodies interested, has agreed to assuirie control of the Pukeora Sanatoriiihi for males sufferihg from pulmonary tiiberculosi's. T he "agi'eenieht" gives the board the right to reliriquish cohtrol at the ehd of'tWq'yhars, or suhse'qtiehtly at thtee months' rioticb. The Government is to make grants to meet 'replacements, rehovations and repairs' fbf a ■frktidd of five years. It is5 proposed to reduce the bed establishment to 190. ^The ehhn^e involves some retrenchment aifihh'g the staff, of which inatter the. Governl meiit is to be given three inohths' notice.
