ATHLETIC CLUB DANCE
ENJOYABLE DANCE. Due to the untiring efforts of an enthusiastic committee, the first annual dance of the Rotorua amateur Athletic Club, which' was held in theMajestic baliroom last Wednesday evening, proved a most enjoyahle function and a marked success. Decorations in the club colours of blue and gold were artistically carried out, ,a topical feature being the decorated cycles arranged at the orchestral end of the baliroom. The supper-room decorations were carried out in the same colour scheme, a novel idea being the club's initials imprinted in multi-coloured confetti on each' of the tables. During the evening several eompetitive novelty dance s were included on the programme. Among the ladies' committee who were present were: — Miss J. Cottrell, who wore wine satin beaute and tulle with velvet coatee to tone; Miss B. Cottrell, ivory satin, and Miss E. Hardie, floral georgette and flarhe velvet capette. Others present included: — Mrs. A. Lillas, cameo pink crepe de chine; Mrs. J. Pennington, rose pink satin; Mrs. Bell, Lulu brown celanese; Mrs. Jackson, black chiffon velvet; Mrs. D. Adams, turquoise blue georgette. Miss M. Healey (Auckland), parchment satin; Miss J. Lillas, briar rose taffeta and georgette; Miss S. McLean, black georgette; Miss M. M. Barnes, shell pink moire; Miss R. Taylor, apple green organdie; Miss S. Narney, ivory satin; Miss R. Munro, hlack satin; Miss M. West, hlack satin and tulle frills; Miss I. James, vieux rose floral ninon; Miss D. Monk, shell pink brocaded lace; Miss R. Manson, flame satin; Miss N. Devin, eau de nil floral georgette; Miss I. Wright, powder blue spotted iiinon; Miss W. Steele, Lido blue crep'e satin; Miss S. Manson, japonica pink crepe
de soie; Miss J. Wylie, cherry red embossed satin; Miss J. Allen, midnight blue lace; Miss N. Allen, black celarifese satin; Miss M. Ross, daffodil satin beaute; Miss B. Corbett, hetty blue organdie; Miss T. Houghton, emerald green satin; Miss E'. Hicks (Te Puke), peach shaded satin and silk net; Miss P. jackson, coral pink lace qnd georgette; Miss M. Jackson (Te Puke), sunglow lace and georgette; Miss- T. Mitchell, floral georgette; Miss B. Johnson, sunset satin; Miss F. Bates. wine crinkle crepe.
