COW JUDGING COMPETITION ^ Whakatane, Saturday. Following are additional results of Friday and Saturday's judging at the Bay of Plenty Winter Show:— In the Cow Judging competition, 1 Messrs. A. McLean and T. R. Tampeo tied with 81 points. The judge's placing was as follows: — Head 5, 'neck 4, body 27, udder 20, tail 1«, teats 8, milk vein 4, skin 2|-, querial 9, total 81. Children's Competitions The children's competition proved ■ an attraction for the afternoon and many good items were presented. ' The judges were Mrs. T. James and /Mrs. K. Stewart. The following are the results: — Recitation (girls 9 years and under) : — Elva Clarlc, 1 ; Gwen Head, 2. Recitation (girls 13 and under): — Iris Leaning, 1 ; Audrey Cartwright - and Mavis Clark tied for second place. Boys' S'ong (13 and under), Jack Garaway. Girls' Song (13 and un,'der) , Beatrice Mylett, 1; Betty Hoop,'er, 2. Song in Character (16 and under), Beatrice Mylett, 1; Jennie Hanltain, 2. Recitation in Charact- • er (16 and under), Beatrice Mylett, 1 ; Nancy Prideaux, 2. Folk Dancing (12 children), Whakatane School, ' 1; Poro Poro School, 2. One of the main features of Saturday's exhibition was, the parade of ■'decorated cars and vehicles which was by far the best parade that has ever been held in connection with .the /show. Results of the parade judging ■were: — , - ' ' Best Decorated Car, Mrs. Orr, 1. \ Mrs. Shapley,' 2. Best Car Poster (Guinea Gold), M. Plumy, 1. Best "Plumber," S. S. Shapley, 1. Best Decorated Lorry, Euben Toma, 1 (Maori whare) ; Whakatane Brown•ies, 2 (Old Woman in Shoe).
