WOMEN'S INSTITUTE PLEASANT MEETING OF MEMBERS AT WOODLANDS

Opotiki, Thursday. The Woodlands' Women's Institute met in the Woodlands Hall on Wednesday afternoon, Mrs. J. Armstroqg presiding over a good attendance. The meeting opened with the singing of the National Anthem and the institute song. Proceedings continued .with the reading of the Women's Creed. * After the general business was dealt with the roll call on "Bathroom Hints" was held, and many instructive suggestions were made. Mrs. A. Debreceny, voluntary organiser for the women's institutes, addressed the members on institute matters for which she was accorded a very heart'y vote of thanks. Mrs. Armstrong gave.a helpful demonstration on the refooting of a ' sock which proved to be very economical. A competition on the names of streets was very entertaining. The autumn shrub flower competition for the month was won by Mrs. Armstrong. The hostesses for the afternoon tea were Mesdames A. E. Martin, Hollard, McGregor and W. Pilkington.
