In view of the unfounded rumours regarding the death of Commander Carey, of the Discovery, th'e investigatory committee announces th'at the commander was in bed for several days owing to an acute nervous hreakdown. His cahin was foU)nd unoccupied on May 2, and it was obvious he had gone overhoard. The Discovery and lanother vessel vainly searched for 2A hours.
