FORGING AHEAD
JAPANESE ATTACKING Rec. May 10, 11 p.m. Shanghai, May 10. Chinese reports state that the Japanese are forging ahead in an offensive. Following Chinese withdrawal, the Japanese reaehed Changli last night, and an armoured train later reaehed Houfengtai. Worlc is unable to proceed owing to the destruetion of the railway bridge. Chinese troops are concentrating on the left bank of the Luan River. They evacuated Luleng and Funing, with the Japanese repeatedly bombing and inflicting severe casualties. I
