SHOOTING SEASON
BAGS FOR OPENING DAY ARE DISAPPOINTING IN NUMBERS FEW LIMITS TAKEN Varied fortunes "are reported by duck-shooters in the Te Puke district, and although there are several instances of limit bags being ob■tained, the general opinion is that the season is not a good one. The Waihi Estuary, which is oue of the most popular of the local duck-shooting districts, and which usually yields good results, has so far this season failed to produce any good bags, 15 between a party of foux* guns being the best reported so far in that area. Good shooting has been obtained, in isolated instances, in the Otamarakau and Pongakawa swamp areas, ,and several limit bags were secured on Monday in the Te Tumu district near the. mouth of the Kaituna River.
