ANGRY FARMERS
SEVERAL IOWA COUNTIES UNDER MARTIAL LAW NUMBER OF CLASHES OCCUR 1 Rec. April 30, 5.5 p.m. Desmoines, Iowa, April 29. The National Guard tr'oops hurried into several counties to -night' wher'6 'martial law has been proclaimed as the aftermath of the attaek on Judge Bradley, and to suppress the 'daily growing rebellion against the fafm mortgages foreclosures. . To add to the flames of the revolt, 'the court declared unconstitutional the recently invoked emergency legislation to postpone foreclosures. ■ Detachments of the militia reinf orced the police officers in the town of Dennison, after 200 farhiers' had heaten off 50 special deputy sherriffs, who attempted forclosure on a farm. One State investigator and si'x deputies were injured seriously enough ■to require medical attention during an altercation in the Plymouth courity the scene of the Bradley outrage. Four hundred militia, men were patrolling the area while farmers were mobilising. apparently with initent to prevent any local saies. [ 'Judge Bradley was dragged from the bench in his own courtroom b^ flrate farmers and nearly strangled by being hanged to a lamp-post while other indignities were inflicted upon •his person. •
