RACE COINCIDENCE

THE HINKLER HANDICAP Rec. Api'il 30, 6.30 p.m. Brisbane, April 30. The Turf Clubl some years ago, created the Hinkler Handicap in honour of Hinkler's record flight from England to Australia in 1927. The event was run on Saturday and happened to coincide with the date his body was found in tragic circum'stanees. The jockeys wore black arm 'bands. Flags were flown half mast on all ' buildings in Hinkler's native town, Bundaberg, where the citizens desire that his body should be brought for burial. Bert Hinkler's mother is now on her way to Perth by boat, and therefore, she is unaware of the discovery of her son's body.
