VALEDICTORY
WOMEN' S CLUB READING CIRCLES HONOUR BRIDE-TO-BE. A very handsome gift volume of Alan Mulgan's NeW Zealand Plays was presented to Miss Joan Hodgson by members of both afternoon and evening circles of the Rotorua Women's Club, who met at the home of Mrs. N. M. Keane in Devon Street last Thursday evening to wish her every happiness in her future married life. The rooms looked most artistic with' large bowls of autumn dahlias and chrysanthemums, and a very pleasiant evening was occupied in reading two delightful one-act plays, "The Bishop 3 Candlesticks" and "The Black Horseman." Among those present were: Mrs. W. A. McLean, Mrs. H. Bertram, Mrs. S. Wallis, Mrs. A. C. Randerson, Mrs. G. Walsh, Mrs. R. Stewart, Mrs, D. M. Ford, Mrs. W. Oampbell, Mrs. H. H. Davis,' Mrs. B. M. Green, Miss J. ' Hodgson, Miss D. Hodgson, Miss. rC; Sharpe, Miss Hitch'ens, Miss D. Hamilton.
