stock markets ADVANCED PRICES ARE MAINTAINED AT FRANKTON HEAVY YARDING OF FAT SHEEP

Hamilton, Thursday. The • Farmers' Co-operative Auct'ioneering Co., Ltd., report: — At Frankton sale yesterday we had a heavy yarding of all classes' of fat sheep, with a medium yarding of store wethers and in-lamb ewes. There was good competition for all fat ewes, and last week's advanced prices were fully maintained. Better qual- [ ity fat wethers were penned with I prices on a par with last week. Lambs ' also came' forward in full numbers and sold at slightly better than freezing rates. S'tore sheep maintained late quotations. Cattle. — An average yarding of ox beef with good quality selling at quite equal to late rates. Cow and heifer beef of good quality came forward in smaller numbers, and prices remained very firm, while second quality remained unchanged. Pigs. — A full yarding of pigs met with another easy sale, prices for baconers being 3s to 4s below last week's rates. Quotations : — Sheep. — Fat wethers, 13s to 14s; medium, 12s 3d to 13s 6d; prime fat ewes, 9s to 9s lOd; medium, 7s to 7s 9d; prime fat lambs, 12s 6d to 13s; medium, 11s to 11s 9d; light, 10s to 10s 9d; forward conditioned lambs, 8s to 8s 5d; breeding ewes, 7s 5d; empty ewes, 4s. Cattle. — Heavy fat steers, £6 6s to £6 10s; medium, £5 5s to £5 8s; light, £3 to £3 12s; heavy fat cows, £4 3s to £4 6s; medium, £3 8s to £3 16s; light fat cows and heifers, £2 2s to £2 12s; boner cows, 20s to 26s; lighter, 10s to 15s; heavy baconers, 38s to £2 3s; medium, 35s to 37s; light, 30s to 34s; heavy porlcers, 26s to 30s; medium, 23s to 25s; light, 17s to 22s; stores, 11s to 15s; slips, 7s to 10s; weaners, 3s 6d to 6s 6d.
