SHOTS IN STREET
MELBOURNE SENSATION Rec. April 23, 7.30 p.m. Melbourne, April 23. A party of gunmen hidden in an arcade in Gray Street, St. Hilda, fired a fusilade at Herbert Adams, formerly a bookmaker, as he stepped out of an adjoining shop on Saturday afternoon. One shot struck Adams in the leg. He was taken to hospital. The assailants escaped. The spot is a busy one, and two boys in the line of fire had a lucky escape.
