(Press Assn.

.. , " \ MOVING SCENES ON ARRIVAL IN . LONDON ENTHUSIASTIC CROWD

. — By Telegraph — Copyright).

Rec. April 23, 11.20 p.m. London, April 23. "England at last thank God," was the Vickers engineers' ejaculation on stepping ashore at Harwick. Journalists swarmed round to get their impressions, which Mr. Monkhouse aptly expressed: "Our feelings on reaching England on St. George's Day can better be understoocf than expressed — but there are still Thornton and MacDonald left behind." Each of the quartette mentioned his concern for their two comrades still in Moscow, in whose interest comment on the trial is forbidden. There was a great cheering crowd at Liverpool Street station. Many women brought bouquets. There were moving re-unions which occupied the movie cameras. The engineers were weleomed and congratnlated on behalf of the Vickers company, and the crowd broke into the National Anthem and "For They are Jolly Good Fellows." Mr. Nordwall's Russian wife was swept off her feet with the thrill of the scene. Mr. Monkhouse, on behalf of his companions paid a high tribute to the efforts of the British Embassy, and returned warm thanks for the sympathy of the public. At the first opportunity he will call on Mrs. Thornton.
