METHODIST CHOIR

CONCERT IN ARMY HALL. At the concert held on Thursday evening in the Salvation Army Hall, the Methodist Choir gave an excellent programme which was in charge of the Rev. G. Peterson. Captain Andrews opened the evening by extending a hearty welcome to the performers. The following items composed the programme: — Solo, "My Saviour Takes Care of Me," hy Mrs. G. 0. Griffiths; Anthem, "Pray for the Peace," by the Choir; a Maori song by little Jean Griffiths, who responded to a.n encore; quartette by Mesdames Hambly, Griffiths, Messrs. Couch and Wingate, "I Heard the Voice"; recitation, "Mistakes," by Miss P. McNee, who, on being encored, contrihuted "Mary Rose"; solo, "Absent," Mr. Frank Harvey, with "Mother Machree" as an encore; Anthem, "How Amiahle are Thy Dwellings," by the Choir; solo, "The Prodigal Son," by Mrs. C. Hambly; elocutionary item, by Mr. Couch; solo, "The Blind Ploughman," with "Vale" as an encore was sung hy Mr. F. Wingate; a laughing chorus by the Choir proved very amusing; solo, "My Prayer," with "Keep on Hopin' " as an encore, was sung by Miss N. Johnson; duet, "Calling," by Mrs. Hambly and Mr. Couch'; concluding anthem, "Fierce R-aged thd Tempest," hy the Choir. Mrs. Hambly and Mr. S. Reynolds were aceompanists throughout the evening.
