At a recent meeting of the Christchurch City Council, Mr. G. T. Baker protested that it was not right for delegates to travel all the way up to Rotorua for the holding of the Municipal Association's Conference when, by holding the conference in Wellington the conference would have much better facilities for a complete consideration of its business. Cr. J. W. Beanland, a council delegate to the conference, aid that the conference was warranted and the work done was very valuable. Cr. E. H. Andrews said there 'had been misrepresentatiqn abouL the cost of holding the conference at Rotorua. Cr. M. E. Lyons said that probably the cost of representation to the council this year was the lightest that it had ever been.
