A DENIAL

Hodgson, solicitor, of Opotiki, in giving evidence on behalf of the Aard service car company before the Transport Board in Rotorua, when he stated that the Public Works Department were doing practically no -maintenance work on the Opotiki/Motu Road. The chairman said that the statement was quite untrue and contrary-

He then'went on to say that unless the r Motu Road were- kept maintained | there would often be no main high1 way outlet to Gisborne owing to eonsiderable slips on the Waioeka Road. A petition is being got up for a service to be maintained on this road j and it is reported that the Toa Toa | factory and residents have already 1 written to the board. h The clerk was instructed to write to the chairman of the Transport ; Board advising him of the f acts.
