GIRLS' SPORTS TRAFALGAR LEADING IN INTER-HOUSE CONTEST •INTERESTING PROGRAMME Although Weather con'ditions were not at their best girl pupils of the school held a successful sports meeting at the Rotorua High School on iSaturday afternoon, when there was a large attendance of parents, friends and old pupils. A cold wind from the north- was I not sufficient to spoil an interesting programme for the spectators and with a fairly fast track, competition in the various events was keen. The enthusiasm displayed by the pupils of the four houses of the school, w-hich were striving for championship honours, was maintained throughout the afternoon and each winner was enthusiastically acclaimed by the members of her particular house. As usual, the efficient control of the meeting, in which over 40 events 1 were decided in two and a-half hours, testified to the organising ability of j the school staff and officials who completed their work well and decided each event with a minimum of delay. During the afternoon some finefinishes and perforihances were witnessed, the points at the close of the •day placing Trafalgar House in the • lead, followed by Blenheim, Agincourt and Crecy. Although the main programme was completed, certain finals have still to be decided on the boys' sports day on Wednesday. An excellent afternoon's entertainment was completed by afternoon tea supplied by the old girls of the school.
