STRANGE MEET IIELD. Foxhunting has just been introduced into Jugosla.via — but without fox or hounds. Early one morninig the first meet of the new hunt was staged at a eastle near Belgrade. Although there were no hounds the master kept a fox's "brush" in his pocket until he decided that it was time to move off. I Theri, waving the "brush," h'e set the pace aeross the country iand for 12 ' miles the field" followed over stiff fences, brooks and narrow ravines. Hard pressed by a dozen strong riders the master signalled that he was about to "kill" the fox. He threw down the brush. The riders dismounted quickly and fought for it among "themiselves. Then they cantered to a neighbouring inn and drank plum •brandy and grog. The hunt was voted so successful that a subscription was opened to purchase hounds, • then a fox or two will have to be found.
