Mr. Forhes said in view of .the re~ duction, in the national income f urther economies were necessary. 'Speaking after Mr. Forbes, Mr. Masters said he did not think the making of economies should cease, but it should be remembered that what economies the Government had effected must not be forgotten when demands are being made for larger economies, and that every service discontinued meant more unemployment.
