OPENING DAY'S FUNCTION. Mixed foursomes did not .see the conclusion of the opening day's function of the Arikikapakapa links on Saturday, for a moist lenjoyable and jolly dance liad been arranged foi* the evening. Dancing took place in the diningroom and on the spacious verandah adjoining, while the lounges were artistically arranged with pink cosmos, land made oosy retreats between the dances. Bunyard, black panne velvet; Mrs. J. H. Herrold, lime and black floral taffeta; Mrsi. S. L. Piaterson, sunset pink floral taf- : feta. . Miss E. Vigor Broiwn (Napier), nigger brown chiffon velvet; Miss 0. Bickerton (Auckland), parara violet satin; Miss M. Cooney, shell pink Isprigged organdie; Miss D.
