HAMILTON MEETING RESENTS CUTS AND MEANS QUESTIONS

Hamilton, Saturday. A meeting of Hamilton unemployed and general re-sidents last night pasis.ed the following resolution: — "That this mass meeting of citizens of Hamilton, realising the difficulties of the unemployed -of our town during the period of'cuts and istand-down-week, demand that the same alloca- ■ tions of v/ork as given in tbe f-our main centres be the standards of relief throughout New Zealand." "Wte protest emphatically against relief workers being comp'el-led to complete and sign form UB32, comrnonly loiown as the means. test papers, and also the foreimg of married men into relief camps." "We protest lemphatic'ally against the penalising of any relief worker owing to his -ohtaining intermittent or oasual employment or any nature ; whatsoever, either by himself or his wife."
