A VERY ENJOYABLE DAY.
j A day of brilliant sunshine was experienced in Tauranga last Satu (e- ] day for the Tauranga Club's annual race fixture, and the pretty coasfal ! town looked more radiant than usual j in the summery conditions that prej vailed. i Th'ere was. a large attendance of racegoers present and in most cases j a field of horlses started which made i betting all the harder and more inte- ! resting. Of course, Tauranga raees just wouldn't be Tauranga races without their wealthy supply of water melons, and I noticed quite a few Rotorua residents who were down for the day staggering carwards with th'e luscious prize tucked uneomfortably under their armis. Among the Rotorua people there I noticed Mrs. H. Bertram, Mrs. ffi. Copeland Smith, Mrs. E. La Trobe Hill, Mrs. A. H. Tripe, Mrs. J. MacCormick, Mrs. H. Hamilton, Mrs. H. A. Goudie, Mrs. Troughton Clark, Mrs J. R. Blencowe, Mrs. H. J. F. Heley, Mrs. W. Young, Miss G. Le Trobe Hill Miss K. Kingon and Mis j Clark.
